Back to Minnesota

We're back! Or I'm back I should say, since Nick moved here in October. After living in Texas for about a year and 3 months, we've officially moved back to Minnesota. Check out the post I did about our move from Minnesota to Texas here, I love looking at old posts.

As you know, I was sad to leave my great job, co-workers, and family, yet so glad to get my marriage back under one roof after nearly two months apart. It was truly a bittersweet week for me, but I made it through it all, had a great Thanksgiving at my mom's with mom, dad and Nick, then Nick and I drove (well he did the driving:)) from North Texas to Central Iowa Friday - it was about 12 hours. My Aunt Michele and Uncle Jeff let us stay at their place that night - and I got to see Joe and the Webb family that night as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins on my dad's side! It was great seeing everyone, we just don't get to see enough of them anymore.

We finished the drive on Saturday, ran a few errands when we got here and unpacked my stuff. It's been a crazy few days! I also got a suit over the weekend for some interviews this morning. I feel like a "real" working woman now that I own a great suit!

Our drive up here Friday and Saturday were SO gloomy! I snapped some pictures (It's one of my favorite passenger pastimes)...

Our approach to downtown Fort Worth, where I spent many of my days as a Texan

It was foggy and hard to capture, but I wanted one last photo of downtown Fort Worth. It just may be my favorite downtown. It's easily accessible, romantic (trees covered in Christmas lights year round!), very date friendly, and safe. It's got everything I love about a great downtown!

My last sunrise over Dallas/Fort Worth...

Seeing this sign made me so proud of my Cyclones!

Somewhere in Oklahoma...

On the open road, heading North

I think this is Iowa...  it looks like it at least!

It may be hard to tell, but as we drove north, there was less green grass and more of the brown wintery looking scenery.

Like I said, it was a fast weekend but I'm glad to be back with Nick and moving forward in this life we've been given. There is so much I'm thankful for right now, and in trying times, sometimes we have to be extra thankful for the basics of life.

On the weather front, we had the low 70's as a high in DFW on Thanksgiving (which it sounds like all of the Midwest had temps in the high 60's), and this week in the Minneapolis area, we're looking at highs in the 40's, so it is a bit of a shock to the system, but I've been anticipating a cool-down up here! I get to use my new coats now, and I NEED to get some Caribou soon. I've been daydreaming about a lite white berry... yum.

I also can't believe we're nearing the end of November! Let's all try to soak up each and every day, they pass way too quickly.
