We're moving back to Minnesota!!!
We have thoroughly enjoyed Texas and had no intentions of leaving after just over a year here, but the right opportunity for Nick presented itself and it's in Minnesota, so that's where we are headed! This fall will include lots of transitioning for us including living apart for a bit while I finish up things with my job for a short time. It is very bittersweet leaving here, but we are trusting the Lord with our lives and living on the edge if that's what this season of our lives calls for.
It won't be easy- Nick will be learning a whole new career field, I'll be back on the job hunt (and will be so sad to leave my great company), we'll be apart from each other for a bit, we'll get used to a much colder winter again ;) etc. But we are excited for our future and are growing our "go-with-the-flow" attitudes. We know we'll learn so much in the upcoming months (and years!) and are really trusting the Truth we know to be our Rock during this transition. Any prayers are welcome :)
Some things we're excited about in Minnesota:
Things we'll miss about Texas:
Stay tuned for more to come on this journey!
Some things we're excited about in Minnesota:
- Our career opportunities
- 4 seasons again (& being snowed in - it's kind of exhilarating, don't you think?)
- Great co-op grocery stores with more organic produce
- Trader Joe's (did you know there aren't any in TX?!)
- Smaller cities - a bit easier to get around
- Eating at some of our fav restaurants again (photo above taken on a dinner date at Good Earth - awesome food)
- Being closer to friends and family (but farther from my mom and dad now that they're here, that's one of the most difficult things about leaving TX)
Things we'll miss about Texas:
- The weather!! (long summer, very short winter)
- My job/company/co-workers
- All the cities we have yet to explore (Austin, Houston, San Antonio (even though we went in '09), and more)
- The cowboy culture meets big city (Fort Worth vs. Dallas)
- Cost of living
- Authentic Mexican food and Tex-Mex
- Being close again to my mom and dad for a short time! (Remember, they moved here in August)
- College football and the rivalries in so many surrounding cities
Stay tuned for more to come on this journey!
